Build the Dream

 martin-luther-king-quote1.jpg

The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial is being built in Washington D.C.

“The memorial is envisioned as a quiet and receptive space, yet at the same time, powerful and emotionally evocative, reflecting the spirit of the message Dr. King delivered and the role he played in society.”

“The King Memorial is intended to be personally transformative for visitors, building a sense of commitment to the promise of positive change and active citizenship. Drawing from Dr. King’s own rich metaphorical language, the themes of “the Man, the Movement and the Message” are intertwined into a larger experience of place.”

Yele Haiti Relief Fund – We highly recommend this organization as it has grassroots right in the heart of Haiti.  Organized by musician (the Fugees) and native Haitian Wyclef Jean to help the people of Haiti, this is a great way to get money right to the people. For more on Yele and Wyclef’s efforts, please read our sister site, Blogcritics.org where writer Clayton Perry recently interviewed Wyclef. You may also text “YELE” to 501501 to send $5.

Playing for Change (4th video)

This is an amazing addition to the “Playing for Change” series of music videos. With cameos from Bono & Bob Marley, along with talented artist from around the world, this tune is evidence of ONE LOVE.

Hey Jude

While stranded in Newark’s Terminal C on Sunday after the airport was sealed because of a security breach, musician Josh Wilson lead a group of travelers in an impromtu version of “Hey Jude”.

This is one of those moments that we can hang on to when we start losing hope in our fellow human beings.
